Congratulations to SimGas for signing a carbon purchase agreement with the World Bank’s Carbon Initiative for Development (Ci-Dev)!  The signing marks the first purchase agreement to be awarded under Ci-Dev, and secures the purchase of 500,000 Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) from SimGas’ Programme of Activities (PoA). Climate Focus assisted SimGas to successfully develop and register their PoA with the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in 2012, and has since provided support in seeking registration under the Gold Standard and submitting a bid for Ci-Dev’s CER purchasing tender. We are currently working on SimGas’ first monitoring and reporting effort for them to be issued carbon credits.
