Bregje Drion
Bregje is a consultant at Climate Focus, where she focuses on land use, forests, and food systems policy. She has broad experience in projects that promote sustainable and inclusive global agricultural value chains. Bregje has worked in various countries across Southeast Asia, Africa as well as in Europe. Her skills include international project management and coordination, stakeholder management, reporting and communications.
Prior to joining Climate Focus, Bregje was a programme officer at the GET.invest Finance Catalyst, helping renewable energy projects link up with finance opportunities. Before that, Bregje worked at CDP, where she coordinated corporate engagement and knowledge development to eliminate deforestation and reduce emissions from commodity supply chains. Earlier in her career, Bregje was stationed at the Dutch embassy in Malaysia. There her role was to identify local opportunities for valorising residue streams from palm oil production. Bregje is fluent in English and Dutch, and has working knowledge of French.
Bregje holds an MSc in International Relations from University of Amsterdam. Her MSc thesis discusses the impacts of zero-deforestation commitments in Indonesia’s palm oil sector.
In her spare time, Bregje loves to travel, scuba dive, go for a run and enjoys long walks with her dog. Music is also a passion with Bregje availing of any opportunity to see her favorite music artists perform.
