Associate Senior Consultant

Ingrid Schulte

Ingrid is an associate senior consultant at Climate Focus. She specializes in land use. She provides advisory services and conducts research on agriculture and land use topics, including forest conservation and restoration, food systems, and commodity supply chains. She previously coordinated the New York Declaration on Forest (NYDF) Assessment Partners, a consortium of 26 research organizations and NGOs that measure progress toward the ten goals of the NYDF.

Prior to joining Climate Focus, Ingrid spent two years as a community health specialist with the United States Peace Corps in Swaziland, Africa. While there, she focused on developing capacity-building programs ranging from female and youth empowerment to addressing issues at the intersection of climate and health, such as clean water and food security. She was also responsible for organizing workshops and managing and coordinating local and national level multi-stakeholder projects. 

Ingrid is working on a PhD (Geography) at the Integrative Research Institute on Transformations of Human-Environment Systems (IRI THESys) of Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. She holds degrees from the Hertie School of Governance (Master of Public Policy) and Brandeis University (BSc in Biology and Anthropology). She also spent an exchange semester at the Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management in Beijing. In her free time, Ingrid likes to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and experience new cultures and places.
