Sandra Greiner
Sandra is a lead consultant at Climate Focus. She is an experienced project manager and has carried out over 50 consultancy assignments during her career. Her broad expertise ranges from supporting greenhouse gas emission reduction projects on the ground to advising financial institutions, multilateral organizations and governments in their carbon procurement and climate-related strategies.
Prior to joining Climate Focus, Sandra worked from 2002 to 2006 as a carbon finance specialist for the World Bank in Washington D.C. as one of the pioneers in the global carbon market.
Sandra believes in the power of the private sector to reduce greenhouse gas emissions fast and efficiently if the price of carbon is right. She supports efforts to revitalize market-based approaches in international climate policy and the disbursement of climate finance. Sandra is a technical advisor to the African group in the climate negotiations, a member of the World Bank’s CDM reform working group and an Executive Committee member of the Project Developers Forum. Inspired by Amsterdam, Sandra is passionate about zero emissions transportation and enjoys cycling around town.
Sandra holds degrees from Hamburg University (MSc and PhD in economics).
